Originally a replacement for the Kawasaki Ninja 300, the 2023 Ninja 400 which returns to the 2023 model lineup, features a host of improvements that make the bike a leader in its class. A featherweight tubular chassis uses the engine as a stress member, adding to the rigidity while saving tremendous amounts of weight, at only 168kg wet this motorcycle is a true featherweight, in fact it is 1kg lighter than its predecessor. On the other hand it does increase the capacity of the engine from the 300 to 400cc adding respectable 6bhp (From 38 to 44) and very impressive 11nm of torque (From 27 to 38). Making the Z400 a fantastic and endlessly fun package.

The noise of a 90 degree crank, twin cylinder, dual overhead cam, four stroke Kawasaki engine is unmistakable to all enthusiasts of motorcycling. Increased performance comes from extra 100cc of engine capacity which allows the bike to pass through the rigorous Euro4 emissions limits while at the same time boosting the mid and low end performance significantly. Making for smoother and more usable power delivery.

Measuring ø310 mm (the same disc size used on the Ninja ZZR1400), the Ninja 400’s semifloating front disc offers sure stopping power. A rigid new front brake master cylinder helps eliminate ineffective (idle) stroke, contributing to controllability, while carefully selected brake hose dimensions and material contribute to brake touch. Featuring the latest ABS unit from Nissin, the most compact and lightweight available.
Trellis frame

The Ninja 400 features a trellis frame similar in design to that of the Ninja H2. Kawasaki’s advanced dynamic rigidity analysis was used to ensure optimum rigidity with light weight. The engine is rigidmounted and used as a stressed member. The frame design contributes significantly to the bike’s low curb mass.

Relaxed rider triangle accommodates a wide range of rider sizes and riding situations.
